Our Services

Psychological Evaluations

Center for Balanced Living provides comprehensive psychological services, including integrative therapy and specialized psychological evaluations. Our evaluations are grounded in current research, trauma-informed in approach, and guided by a holistic understanding of the individual. Assessment extends beyond symptom identification to consider developmental history, nervous system functioning, cognitive and academic performance, emotional and behavioral patterns, relational dynamics, and environmental context.

We specialize in neurodevelopmental assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), with a focus on providing clear diagnostic clarity and clinically meaningful recommendations. Our evaluation process is designed to support individuals who may have been overlooked, misdiagnosed, or misunderstood, particularly those with complex presentations, masking, or co-occurring anxiety, trauma, or mood concerns.

We also provide educational and psychoeducational assessments to identify learning disorders, cognitive profiles, and academic support needs. This includes assessment for giftedness, twice-exceptional (2e) individuals, and students whose strengths may obscure underlying learning or executive functioning challenges. Our goal is not simply to label, but to provide an accurate and strengths-based understanding of how an individual learns, processes information, and navigates the world.

Dr. Serravalle offers training in many aspects of psychology, but specializes in the trauma modalities of DBT, ACT, EMDR, and IFS.

Professional trainings at Center for Balanced Living are developed for mental health providers who want depth, precision, and real-world clinical application. Each training integrates evidence-based frameworks with clinically grounded instruction, allowing participants to strengthen both conceptual understanding and practical skill.

Trainings may include topics such as trauma-informed care, EMDR-informed treatment planning, nervous system regulation, complex trauma presentations, anxiety disorders, attachment-based conceptualization, and therapeutic integration strategies. Content is designed to move beyond surface-level technique, supporting clinicians in developing stronger clinical judgment, case formulation, and intervention planning.

Programs may include didactic teaching, clinical discussion, case consultation, and applied tools that participants can integrate immediately into practice. Trainings are appropriate for licensed clinicians, advanced graduate students, and other helping professionals depending on the specific offering.

Supervision Services

Clinical Supervision at Center for Balanced Living is grounded in developmental, trauma-informed, and research-based practice. Supervision is available for LPC associates, PsyD trainees, and licensed clinicians seeking advanced clinical growth, as well as for therapists pursuing EMDR training and consultation as part of the EMDRIA certification process.

Supervision integrates case conceptualization, ethical decision-making, trauma-informed treatment planning, and development of clinical judgment. Emphasis is placed on strengthening theoretical integration, deepening assessment skills, and cultivating professional identity with both confidence and humility. Supervisees are supported in developing precision in diagnosis, intervention planning, documentation, and relational process.

As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, consultation for EMDR therapists includes case review, protocol refinement, fidelity to the adaptive information processing model, and integration of EMDR with complex trauma, dissociation, attachment disruptions, and comorbid presentations. Consultation is structured to support both skill acquisition and thoughtful clinical reasoning, ensuring therapists move beyond procedural competence toward conceptual mastery.

Supervision is collaborative, intellectually rigorous, and growth-oriented, designed to support clinicians at varying stages of professional development while maintaining high standards of ethical and evidence-based practice.
