Brianna Patton works with teens and adults, ages 12 to 65, who are carrying anxiety, depression, a difficult childhood, or relationships that keep hurting in the same way. Many come to her after bullying, years of harsh self-talk, or trouble holding boundaries with the people closest to them. Shame, guilt, and grief from early experiences are often part of what brings them in.
The concerns she treats most often are anxiety and stress, depression and low motivation, trauma, relationship and boundary difficulties, and self-esteem. Her sessions combine conversation with structure. She often uses visuals to make a pattern easier to see, and suggests work between sessions when it will help.
She draws on three approaches. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps clients see how thoughts, feelings, and behavior feed one another, and build different ways of responding. Internal Family Systems helps clients understand the anxious, overwhelmed, or self-critical parts of themselves and meet them with more compassion. EMDR helps past experiences feel less overwhelming and carry less weight in the present. Brianna has completed EMDR training and continues to practice it under supervision.
Clients describe her as supportive, genuine, and encouraging, and as someone who will gently challenge the patterns keeping them stuck.
Brianna is a Licensed Associate Counselor of Mental Health, practicing under supervision at Center for Balanced Living in Townsend, Delaware, as she works toward full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health. She is currently accepting new clients. Outside the office, she spends her time with her dogs and the people she loves.
