Common Questions About EMDR Consultation
Yes. Consultation is for therapists who have completed an EMDRIA approved basic training. It is the next step in the certification process and builds directly on that training.
Case review, protocol refinement, and integrating EMDR with complex presentations, including dissociation, attachment disruption, and co-occurring conditions. The focus is fidelity to the Adaptive Information Processing model and the clinical reasoning that moves practice beyond technique.
EMDRIA certification requires 10 hours of consultation with an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, in addition to the 10 hours completed during basic training. Dr. Serravalle documents your hours for your certification application.
