In Planning
Growing community through nature
Dr. Niki Serravalle is founding a nonprofit that brings people together around nature-based stress management education: time in gardens, with animals, and outdoors, learning practical ways to understand stress and care for ourselves and each other.
It is in planning now, with its name, founding board, and formation taking shape. The goal is to open in 2027.
The Working Mission
Nature, education, and community
We build community through free, nature-based education that helps people understand stress, practice everyday ways of coping, and find the support they need.
The vision behind it is a community where time in nature, and the skills to manage stress, belong to everyone.
What It Will Offer
Gardens, animals, and open air
Every program pairs time in nature with practical education about stress and how to manage it.
Community gardens
Hands-on gardening where people grow something together and learn simple, practical ways to settle stress along the way.
Time with animals
Gentle, guided time with animals, paired with short lessons on calming the body and steadying the mind.
Guided nature walks
Small-group walks outdoors with brief education on noticing, breathing, and letting stress move through.
Workshops and gatherings
Free community workshops on stress and coping, and seasonal gatherings that bring neighbors together outside.
The Land
From open field to shared ground
Here is the land today, and what we imagine it becoming.
Today
Concept
The field
An open field at the edge of the woods, imagined with goats, horses, and chickens along a walking path.
Today
Concept
The garden
Raised beds, a potting bench, and a long table where people can grow, learn, and eat together.
Today
Concept
The flower garden
Planted beds and a gravel path under the magnolia, with a quiet place to sit.
Today
Concept
A place to gather
Plantings, seating, and an accessible path so everyone can find a place outside.
Concept
The walking path
A trail into the trees for guided walks and time to slow down.
Renderings show the vision. The space will take shape with the community that grows it.
How It Works
Learn, grow, gather
Each gathering pairs time outdoors with practical education: what stress does in the body, and simple skills to settle it. People learn side by side, in the garden, with the animals, and on the trail, and come back to a community that grows with them.
It will be guided by an independent volunteer board and run as its own community organization.
If you or someone you love is in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.
Get Involved
Help it grow
If you have land, a garden, animals, or a community space to share, if you would like to volunteer, or if you are interested in serving on the founding board, Dr. Serravalle would like to hear from you.
