Back at the Chamber

The second luncheon is when you start recognizing faces.

We were back at Middletown Memorial Hall in October for the Fall Business Luncheon, this time as a lunch sponsor, alongside presenting sponsors Birdie's Links and Drinks and ChristianaCare. Niki greeted guests at the door as a Chamber ambassador, and Jada Senter, our practice manager, came with her. Over lunch they talked with Brian Moreau of AKA Advisory, the Chamber's Ambassador of the Year, Stephanie of Birdie's, and Soluna of Zion Sheet Metal, one of the Chamber's newest members.

Connected in purpose

A practice is part of a town, and we want to know ours.

We joined the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce this year and sat at the Spring Business Luncheon as new members and sponsors. We also sponsored the chamber’s 54th Annual Awards Night, where Brian Moreau was named Ambassador of the Year.

Every introvert needs an extrovert

Niki brought her dad, Dudley Serravalle, to the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce’s 104th Annual Dinner at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. He had just moved to Delaware, follows local government closely, and will talk to anyone in the room. Niki is the introvert of the two. Every practice needs someone who works the room.

Crabs, together

No agenda, no case talk. Just mallets, Old Bay and a long table.

Our end-of-summer staff crab feast brings everyone’s families along. The people who take care of clients all week deserve an afternoon of being taken care of.

An evening around the fire

We invited mental health providers from across Delaware to our Townsend property, including members of the North Wilmington networking group and the Delaware Therapist Connection group. Referrals work best between clinicians who actually know each other. That starts with a fire, a few benches, and time to talk.

Community is not a referral list. It is knowing who you are sending someone to.

We host evenings like this for therapists, evaluators and community partners, on purpose and on our own land. If you would like an invitation to the next one, let us know.

Grief is never a side topic

Members of our clinical team attended a grief training hosted by Christina Zampitella, PsyD, FT, of The Center for Grief and Trauma Therapy, with faculty from the Portland Institute for Loss and Transition. Grief comes into almost every kind of work we do, whether or not it is the reason someone first calls.

Blue for April

For World Autism Awareness Day, the team wore blue. Autism evaluations are a large part of what we do, and the families who come to us for them deserve a practice that shows up for them outside the testing room too.
